Map public-facing work
Diagnostic staff meet patients at booking, collection, preparation and report delivery. Identify where a worker is alone or cannot readily contact colleagues. Check actual opening hours and whether late duties change the assistance route. A quiet department can still have a gap in support, especially when other services have closed.
Clarify information responsibilities
Explain who discusses preparation, report availability and clinical interpretation. Avoid asking a technician to promise a deadline controlled by another team. Provide a route for questions and complaints. When a delay occurs, give a consistent update instead of leaving staff to invent explanations. Keep report content private at public counters.
Test the procedure
During an announced review, ask a worker to show how help is requested from an isolated room. Verify that the receiving person understands the location. Include contract and visiting staff in induction. Record failures as institutional actions. Check whether help can be obtained without leaving a patient unattended or depending on a personal phone.
